Murder charges against juvenile in Pittsburgh

The new charges came in just hours after a District Judge Thomas Miller, Jr. dismissed homicide charges against the 17-year-old. According to court records, the office of District Attorney Stephen Zappala, Jr. filed new homicide charges, as well as robbery and other related charges against the boy. The 17-year-old was arrested in November and charged in connection with the shooting and death of a 23-year-old man from the Hill District, last year on 23 June along Webster Avenue. The 17-year-old was held from that time until the recent ruling at the Allegheny County Jail. The new charges were officially filed on Saturday and a judge has ordered him to remain held without bond in the Allegheny County Jail until his preliminary trial at the end of this month on 30 January. Another teen, also a 17-year-old male, is being charged in the victim’s death.
