Criminal charges for violent crimes such as assault and battery can land a person in jail for a very long time. Recently, in Blairsville, PA, a man was stabbed several times with his own bayonet late last Saturday evening during an altercation is now being charged with violent crimes. Police say the man was attempting to collect a debt when the incident occurred. PA State Police say that the 64-year-old man who has not yet been identified is currently being treated at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh’s North Side. The alleged incident took place when the 64-year-old man and a 45-year-old man approached a 19-year-old man at his White Township home at around 8 p.m. on Saturday night. The confrontation apparently occurred over stolen money from a marijuana deal gone bad, according to police. The 19-year-old man then grabbed the blade, cutting his hand, then controlled the blade and stabbed the 64-year-old man several times. The 64-year-old man and the 45-year-old man then went to the Regency Square Apartments when the man collapsed and an ambulance was called. He was taken to the Indiana Regional Medical Center to be treated. The 19-year-old man was also taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center to be treated. The 64-year-old man was then taken to a Pittsburgh hospital via Life-Flight for a medical facility better suited to the man’s needs.
