Drunk driving penalties in Pennsylvania (part 2)

As promised, we are following up with the rest of our informative post about the penalties assessed for a drunk driving arrest. Our first post from last week covered penalties for a first-time DUI. This post will cover multiple offenses. Of course, no one condones drinking and driving, but we do all mistakes. If you have been arrested a third time for drunk driving and your BAC is .10% – .16%, then you will face one year to five years in jail, $10,000 in fines, an eighteen month license loss, twelve month interlock device assessment, and a full drug and alcohol evaluation. For a third DUI with the highest BAC level of .16% and higher, a suspect is looking at one year to five years in jail, $10,000 in fines and penalties, an eighteen month license suspension, twelve months of ignition interlock, and a full drug and alcohol evaluation. For a fourth drunk driving charge in a ten years period with a BAC of .08% – .10%, you will receive two years of jail time, $5000 in fines, twelve month license loss, ignition interlock for one year, and a full drug and alcohol assessment. If you have been arrested for drunk driving a fourth time and your BAC is .10% – .16%, then you will go to jail for five years, face $10,000 in fines and penalties, eighteen month license loss, twelve months of ignition interlock, and a full drug and alcohol assessment. A fourth drunk driving arrest with a BAC at .16% or higher carries with it up to five years in jail, fines of up to $10,000, license suspension for eighteen months, ignition interlock device for twelve months, and a full drug and alcohol evaluation.
