Bond may be revoked for former Plum teacher

A slow drive past his alleged victim’s house just before Christmas could land a former Plum High School teacher back in jail. The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office is looking to revoke the man’s bond after a neighbor said she saw him on the girl’s street. The 38-year-old man is awaiting trial on charges of institutional sexual assault and witness intimidation. The assistant D.A. filed a motion on Wednesday to revoke the man’s bond, saying he broke the "no-contact" condition of his bond when he drove past her house on 23 December. The witness says that when she saw the defendant, he was driving slowly and looking back over his left shoulder toward the victim’s home. The assistant D.A. says that it appears the conditions imposed on the defendant are not enough to ensure the safety of the victim…thus the Commonwealth should revoke his bond. A hearing for bond revocation is scheduled for 14 January. After the institutional sexual assault charges were filed 11 February 2015, the suspect called the victim at her home on 20 February, according to the criminal complaint. At the preliminary hearing, the man’s attorney argued that he was only calling to apologize and to ask if the victim was all right, and that he didn’t ask her to change her testimony or drop charges. Investigators say the man was intimidating her by continuing their relationship to exercise control over the teen.
